Key Responsibilities:

  • IV Administration: Start and monitor IV therapy, ensuring safe and effective fluid administration.
  • Client Monitoring: Assess client’s physical health, including vital signs, and monitor their response to treatment.
  • Infection Management: Prevent and manage infections associated with IV therapy.
  • Assessment: Conduct physical assessments, including evaluating mental status, and identify any contraindications to IV therapy.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, therapy services, assessments, and treatment responses.
  • Client Communication: Effectively communicate with clients about their therapy, ensuring they understand the process and feel comfortable throughout their treatment.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Certification: Credentialed as an RN (Registered Nurse), EMT - Paramedic
  • Required Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and medical practice functions.
    • Expertise in venous access with the ability to access peripheral veins.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in vascular access or IV infusion, with strong venous access skills.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent intravenous catheter placement
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
    • Customer service-oriented with a focus on patient confidentiality
    • Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively
    • Problem-solving abilities and independent judgment

Working Conditions:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 to 10-hour shifts, with occasional weekends required.
  • Environment: General clinic setting with climate control and adequate lighting.
